Tree service in Putney and Radium Springs, GA
Tree removal and cleanup for the south side of the Albany area, from the Radium Springs neighborhoods down through Putney toward the Mitchell County line.
Putney is an unincorporated community in southeastern Dougherty County, about 7 miles south of Albany on U.S. 19, the Liberty Expressway. It had 2,869 residents in the 2020 census and covers about 22 square miles, with the Flint River along part of its western edge and the Mitchell County line to the south. The Radium Springs area, home to one of Georgia's Seven Natural Wonders, sits between Putney and the rest of Albany.
Still recovering from 2017 and 2018
The January 22, 2017 EF3 tornado crossed the Radium Springs area, and the National Weather Service found it destroyed nearly every tree in its path there, with most homes in the area significantly damaged by falling trees. Hurricane Michael hit the same part of the county the next year. Some lots still have leaning survivors, split trunks, old root plates and stumps from that era, and pines weakened by storms can draw bark beetles.
River lots and rural property
Closer to the Flint, low ground and sandy banks can make it harder to get heavy equipment to a tree, and crews have to keep debris out of the water. Farther out, properties are larger and the work is more about clearing trees from fence lines, lanes, outbuildings and the edges of fields and orchards.
